I’m gonna split your wig, dog! Seriously though, Cole’s first 2 tapes should not be discredited. Classics. I won’t deny that the album was tailored for mass appeal though, as is every debut in our damn capitalist society.

haha yeah i acknowledged those in a later comment. agree that the tapes were very good. the difference between jermaine and kendrick/krit is he’s more or less on a major label and has put out an album for sale. kendrick has had his ‘mixtapes’ for sale, but has done it all in-house and thus hasn’t sacrificed the sound to appease a label.

maybe cole can bounce back with a more compelling sophomore album, but i didn’t really care for ‘Cole World’ – too much fluff
