D’Angelo Back: 8 Minute Performance of “Chicken Grease” in Stockholm (Video)

I thought this day would never happen. After several delays (and arrests), D’Angelo performed tonight in Sweden for the first time in 11 years (!!!!) and on the 12 year anni of the classic Voodoo, no less. In this clip (filmed just a few hours ago), D looks more like the sculpted superhero of neo-soul we know from his Untitled video and less like the ODB lookalike who was busted picking up jawns in New York.

I can only hope this means I still have a chance to see him live. The Voodoo tour with ?uestlove & James Poyser (etc. etc.) supporting is easily one of the best tours of all time. To prove that point to some of you 90′s babies, here’s some live takes from the Jamarcus archives:
