what was the first CD or tape that you ever bought?
The first tape I ever bought was defiantly the Lion King. That ish was so sick back in the day; I listened to non-stop. Circle of Life, I Just Can’t Wait to be King, Hakuna Matata, and Can You Feel the Love Tonight!!!! I even made copies of it using my dual cassette boombox.
what was the most recent CD you purchased?
The most recent CD I bought was Gonjasurfi: A Surfi and A Killer, from Landlocked Records in Bloomington. The Gaslamp Killer with some crazy psychedelic production. I’m too lazy to buy an AUX cord for my car so i’m a pretty frequent CD buyer.
describe your most memorable concert experience.
So many crazy concerts! So little I remember… I guess last summer at Lollapalooza takes the cake. After a long and intense afternoon filled with frightening images and crazy thoughts of dehydration, I found myself musically frustrated. Other than Atmosphere there was nothing around that I was really felling. During a down point we decided to find some shade by Perry’s Stage. Within minutes my newfound love for Electronic music was born. All thanks to LA Riots, Diplo and Bassnectar. I pretty much lost my mind and instantly fell in love with heavy bass and mechanical noises. The most memorable part of the madness was the multiple times when Diplo would raise his finger in the air signaling to thousands of people when they are and are not allowed to dance. I wanna have that power! Everything else is just an amazing dream like blur of great music and lots of raging. It changed my life and now I’ma robot named Kyle! Ha.
what is your biggest musical guilty pleasure?
I like that Owl City song… I don’t know why, but for some reason I can’t stop listening when it comes on. I can’t believe I telling y’all that.
