MP3: A$ton Matthews – Brick Flair

May 16, 2012 No comments yet

“Brick Flair” is another vicious heater from A$ton’s upcoming Versace Rags, produced by Joey Fatts & Leken Taylor. You didn’t know A$AP Rocky bit A$ton’s flow for “Goldie”? “Brick Flair” is getting added to the whip playlist with a sincere quickness. Hope y’all are catching on.

Video: Death Grips – Hustle Bones

May 15, 2012 No comments yet

Death Grips’ The Money Store is one of the most exhilarating and unconventional albums in recent memory. Anyone who has caught the experimental trio’s live set can attest that they’re flipping the status quo. The group-directed video for “Hustle Bones” has weed, money, beer, and pills going through the laundry machine, an accurate visual representation of the accompanying music.

The Money Store is in stores now, and a new album is on the way.

Chief Keef nabs a verse from Mr. Trap or Die himself, Young Jeezy, for his new record “Understand Me.” We saw this one coming a mile away, though.

Chief Keef – Understand Me ft. Young Jeezy

Keef has now collaborated on tracks with Jeezy, G.O.O.D. Music, Jadakiss, Riff Raff, Waka Flocka and Shawnna (If her name still means anything in 2012). Looks like this is the year of Sosa and GBE. BANG BANG!

Props to Fake Shore.

Free Album: The Politix – {po-’li-tiks}

May 15, 2012 2 comments

Let me introduce you to your next favorite jazz-hip hop infused quintet based out of Miami – The Politix. They just released their free debut album {po-’li-tiks} and is setting the bar pretty high for artists who strive to put out quality projects. Think of them as a more mature version of Kids These Days with sounds reminiscent to The Roots, pre-millenium. The fact that this is their first album proves that they are destined for success, especially for those of us who still appreciate that 90s rap sound. Some of the stand out tracks would be Black and Blue, Light Up, Change This, and Looking Up but to be honest, all of them have their own strengths. Don’t overlook the short instrumental interludes either, which further exemplifies their talent instead of being the usual fillers. This is an album I would have no problem paying $10 for, but as we all know in this day of age the only way to get heard is releasing free music. Alright, I’ve done enough rambling – stream and download below.

Listen: Hardaway Smith – See Me Now (Prod. Corey G)

May 14, 2012 No comments yet

Over the last week, I’ve been listening to a lot of records produced by Corey G. and I must say that I’m thoroughly impressed. Joe Cool’s “Remedy” was his first piece of work I found myself replaying and now it’s Hardaway Smith’s “See Me Now.”

Hardaway Smith is a 19-year-old emcee from Los Angeles and he does one Hell of a job spitting over this soulful Corey G. production. If you’re feeling this one be sure to check out Corey G. and Mr. Smith’s joint project, Renaissance: Absolut, and Hardaway’s latest video, “Black Bouquet.”

God Forgives & I Don’t in stores July 31st. Stream “Touch’n You” below:

XXYYXX ft. 2 Chainz About You (DJ Fergie Ferg Trap Edit)

May 11, 2012 3 comments

DJ Fergie Ferg did the right thing and combined two of my most visited iPod selections with this edit. On another note, Kanye West just officially announced that 2 Chainz is signed to his G.O.O.D. Music imprint. Maybe we can get an original verse on “About You,” because that track is hypnotizing and I can’t stop listening to it.
