Jessie Ware – Strangest Feeling

Strangest Feeling by JessieWare
SBTRKT already sparked my interest in male vocalist, Sampha, and now this week we’re hearing a solo single from another artist that was featured on the album. If you’re just discovering this site for the first time or you finally learned how to read I’ll catch you up, we love SBTRKT. Jessie Ware provided vocals for the SBTRKT album track “Right Thing To Do” and some harmonies on the Sampha led “Sanctuary.” She and Sampha also collaborated last year on a sweet little duet that Sampha produced entitled “Valentine.” Wish I could be included in the clique these Brits apparently have going on.
Jessie Ware is from London and her debut single “Strangest Feeling” will be out next month. She is currently in the process of recording her album and is planning for an early 2012 release date. The only way I can think to describe Jessie’s style in “Strangest Feeling” is some type of R&B electro fusion. I really like how as Jessie’s vocals gain competence throughout the track (around 1:20 is where she had me) the beat plays off the build up without getting completely out of hand and becoming a distraction. If this is any indication of the direction her album is headed in I’m thinking 2012 will be a good year for Jessie Ware.
