Back in 1996, if your durag game was tight and your closet was decked out with the finest assortment of FUBU jerseys your nearest urban wear store had to offer, chances are you were having sex four times a week and didn’t need to explain. LL Cool J is the undisputed king of making Hip-Hop records that cater to the ladies, and after “I Need Love,” “Doin’ it” might be his finest work.
The original version of “Doin’ it” features an amazing sample of Grace Jones’ “My Jamaican Guy,” while the remix borrowed the classic sound from The Art of Noise’s “Moments in Love.” Awesome production on both records.
Fellas if you find a woman who can recite the words to this song verbatim, that’s the one you want to take home for the night, as she’s guaranteed to ‘do it well’—giggity.
