Late Night Snack: The Isley Brothers – “Between the Sheets”

After Prince, The Isley Brothers are probably my favorite musical act in the history of history. I’ve never asked my mom but I’m sure, if it wasn’t a Prince song, I was conceived to an Isley Brothers record—which would actually explain a lot.
“Between the Sheets” is without a doubt one of the greatest bedroom bangers of all time, and the definition of a ‘Quiet storm’ track. I knew all of the lyrics to this song before I even knew girls had vaginas. Appearing on the group’s 1983 album of the same name, “Between the Sheets” is the quintessential slow jam.
Being the legendary song that it is, “Between the Sheets” has been sampled what seems like an infinite amount of times. Everyone from Tupac to Gwen Stefani has used this Isley Bros. gem to produce work of their own (Including this dope ass guitar cover).
And now, for your enjoyment, here’s a list of the top 10 songs that sample “Between the Sheets.”
10. Jay-Z – “Ignorant Shit” ft. Beanie Sigel (2007)
9. Keith Murray – “The Most Beautifullest Thing in This World” (1994)
8. UGK – “Cramping My Style” ft. Infinity (1992)
7. Jim Jones – “Summer Wit’ Miami” ft. Trey Songz (2005)
6. Gwen Stefani – “Luxurious” ft. Slim Thug (2004)
5. Pretty Ricky – “On the Hotline” (2006)
4. Lil’ Vicious – “Nika” (1994)
3. Da Brat – “Funkdafied” (1994)
2. A Tribe Called Quest – “Bonita Applebum” [Hootie Mix] (1992)
