Stoveman put me on the awesomely-NSWF honey-drenched video for ‘Decay’ just the other day and it reminded me of the kind of fun we used to have with the Tom Tom Club. Thanks to international .com celebrity Gorilla vs. Bear we get to hear their full debut and it’s all over the place avant garde, at times sounding like Wilco after a Jeff Tweedy relapse or Justice on Quaaludes at a medieval carnival. This album is the punchline to ‘Del The Funky Homosapien, the XX and Ariel Pink walk into a bar.’ See for yourself.
