The Mohicans Are What The Game’s Been Missing

The Mohicans are Dave and Kashus Klay, who emcees and handles the production. Not Native American, but they inherited their namesake from the motion picture “The Last of the Mohicans.” Dave says they’re like the last of a dying tribe making that good music. With older artists losing that spark that once made them bonafide and everyone else stuck on cocaine and weird, The Mohicans harken back to a better time for hip hop.
These two represent Dallas/Ft. Worth and are current students at Texas Tech (majoring in dope hip hop??). The lyrics are some spoken-word poetic storytelling with southern swag reminiscent of classic groups like Outkast and Cunninlynguists. Anybody with half a brain can tell upon first listen that “Chillin” is a hit. Kashus’ beat is on some next-level Sa-Ra and they ride the beat like some veteran emcees
