Resident ATLien Grip Plyaz has been grinding on the underground circuit for some time now, so it definitely jumped to the top of my “must listen” list when I saw he finalized released his long-awaited “Purp X Wind X Fire” mixtape. Easily one of the best names for a mixtape of all time. With features from Rittz, Aleon Craft and blog superstar Trinidad James, this mixtape has enough music to satisfy your craving for Atlanta music not created by Big Boi and T.I.
After listening to the tape one of the standout tracks was “Child Support”, where Grip Plyaz finds the middle ground between Don Trip’s “Letter 2 My Son” and one of Future’s power ballads. If you have any type of baby mama drama just put your lighters up and vibe out to this joint right here.
Check out “Purp X Wind X Fire” below, including “Jackie Joyner,” which has an obligatory Trinidad Jame$ feature.
