Nas and Amy Winehouse have a relationship dating back to 2006 when the late singer name checked him on ‘Me and Mr. Jones‘ off her critically-acclaimed Back to Black album. Since then, Nas has spoken out in honor of the fallen singer, calling Amy “his sister” and even recording a posthumous collaboration in the form ‘Like Smoke.’ But it’s Amy’s turn to return the favor.
In a new track off Nas’s upcoming album, Life Is Good, we get to hear Amy’s signature raspy vocals on the hook. Speaking about the creation of ‘Cherry Wine,’ Nas explained, “Salaam [Remi] worked on her last album, and they were working. We don’t even have an explanation for how it happened. It was just magic. It just happened. It was supposed to happen. She made it happen.”
Check out Nas and Amy’s newest collaboration.
