My Mathematical Mind

i think a lot can be said about that fact that me and stuart (aka StuBentley) are on repeating terms in 100 level Math courses. 1) we’re definitely right-brain dominant. i.e. we like music and words not numbers. 2) we definitely have our priorities right, often opting on partying over studying for tests or completing mindlessly mandated webwork problems. as i ready myself for what is hopefully my final attempt at a C in this dumb major requirement, i have no regrets about all the tests i have taken hungover. because you can always retake a class, but you can never relive a party (Pi Napple Phi happens only once a year, there could be 10 finite tests a year if you take it both semesters – that’s simple mathematics)
i’d like to dedicate the following tracks to my professor, WH Wheeler, who might google himself and only listens to Opera music currently. you might dig Mos Def and the White Stripes dude. and i hope you consider all the great times we’ve shared these 4 years when you’re grading my final.
with Love – Jamarcus
Consequence – Do The Math (Freestyle)
Modest Mouse – Never Ending Math Equation
Quasimoto – Microphone Mathematics
Mos Def – Mathematics
White Stripes – Black Math
Spoon – My Mathematical Mind
Sun Kil Moon – Neverending Math Equation
that last one is from Sun Kil Moon’s stellar Modest Mouse cover album “Tiny Cities”
the links that didn’t embed are .m4a itunes files. i’m too lazy to convert them, but they should work in your iTunes. download those to beef up your catalog if you don’t already have them.
i’ll be here all night. taking requests. you can reach me on AIM at nu marcus
