Today’s Smothered & Covered is in remembrance of those affected by the September 11 attacks.
Eleven years ago on this day, America faced one of the biggest tragedies in the nation’s history. Indeed, what started off as a normal Tuesday quickly became filled with horror as the US faced a series of terrorists attacks in New York City and Virginia.
The aftermath of the attacks left many wondering how to move forward, but a group of artists decided it was time to give back. Led by Jermaine Dupri and Bono, artists such as ‘Nsync, Destiny’s Child, P. Diddy, and Gwen Stefani joined forces to record a cover of Marvin Gaye’s 1971 hit, “What’s Going On.” A portion of the proceeds were donated to the American Red Cross’ September 11th fund, as well as to programs dedicated to AIDS programs in Africa.
Join the artists in a moment of remembrance.
