BJ The Chicago Kid has kept himself relatively quiet since releasing one of my favorite 2012 albums in Pineapple Now-Laters, but now he comes out of the shadows with something new. “Honey” is as seductive as it gets for BJ, interpolating Aaliyah’s “Rock The Boat” (and surprisingly, Steam too) and sounding slightly raunchier in the process. With a beat provided by B!nk, he gets the vibe going with thigh-quivering lines for the ladies (It’s a must I make you rain/after I get you high/Don’t worry about them little stains/’Cause that Oxy Clean is gonna get them out). This probably could have been left off for The Late-Night Snack, but this is way too good to pass up.
Yay? Nay? I figure this would be worth listening to with a significant other tonight.
