Four guys. Two sets of brothers. Two coasts. Two countries. Four albums. One love. = Nervous Nellie. Members Henrik, Sebastian, Magnus, Andie describe their sound as “pop psycho rock indie disco hip hop.” While they say the idea for the song came after hearing an old Tom Petty song one day, there is something reminiscent of Tears for Fears for me – maybe it’s the back beat that reminds me of “Everybody Wants to Rule The World” or maybe it’s just that Tears for Fears is the only CD my dad played in the car for a year of my life, but either way, there is something different – the great, intriguing kind of different – about this song.
The band says “We wanted to do something different from what we’ve done before & we are confident we have succeeded. The fact that Henrik’s wife finds the verses of “Gloves” to somehow be a little ‘icky-sounding’ tells us that.” I’m with Henrik’s wife – they succeeded on this one. I am really liking this band and not just because of how great their band name is. Listen to “Gloves” and look out for their “Gloves EP” out February 12th.
ps thank you blog friend Confusion for the heads up on these guys.
