If there’s one way to get my attention, it’s by covering Steely Dan. The Dan is hands down one of my favorite groups of all time. Toronto art rock outfit The Darcy’s cover of ‘Josie’ is the first song I’ve heard from them. Touches of Fagen & Becker remain, but the song gets a complete facelift for 2012. The Darcy’s will be dropping a cover album dedicated to Steely Dan’s 1977 masterpiece (yes, masterpiece!!!) AJA available on January 27th. I’m really excited to hear how they flip classics like the title track, ‘Black Cow,’ and ‘Peg.’ Fuck, I just love Steely Dan.
