The Internet’s Purple Naked Ladies came out in December of last year when everyone had already started to contemplate their “Best of 2011″ lists. I actually consider the LP to be one of my favorites of the year; Syd and Matt developed a new age soulful sound that I think is entirely unique. In the documentary they discuss their style (Stevie Wonder on acid, except they aren’t comparing themselves to Stevie but think it is reminiscent of his sound), having total creative control of the album, back stories behind some of the songs, and their name among other topics. In only 20 minutes of observing their production process the duo’s strength and talent is clear and they’ll only get better with time.
