Wax gets funky on this minimal beat with an ode to the working man and proving that he is absolutely one of the most talented artists out right now. The idea is very brilliant… we idolize and romanticize rappers as having a real profession but at the end of the day it’s not actual “work.” The “Whoa is me, fuck this industry bullshit” complaints pale in comparison to people like miners who can get trapped underground or a fireman who risks his life daily to save others. Bravo.
PS: Sans Homeboy Sandman and Soul Khan, I don’t think anyone can really fuck with Wax’s multi-syllabic, assonant-laden rhyme schemes.
