The newest Reebok commercial music video from visionary producer Swizz Beatz features A$AP “Call Me Flocko” Rocky, MPC-autistic producer araabMuzik & none other than Allen Iverson (formerly known as Jewelz)
17 year-old Daytona Beach femceee Kitty Pride was unanimously anointed ‘next up’ just yesterday by our esteemed colleagues of digital tastemakers.
In her new video for “Okay Cupid,” which premiered on FADER, she professes her unrequitedlove to Danny Brown and longingly karaoke’s Frank Ocean’s “Thinking About You” over Beautiful Lou’s ethereal production (think A$AP Rocky’s “Kissin Pink”).
Aptly described as ‘jailbait Haley Williams’ by VICE, her sing-songy vocals are more vaguely reminiscent of Kilo Kish.
Visit Kitty Pride’s Bandcamp for more music and for all unanswered questions see the homey Ernest‘s interview with the burgeoning teen phenom on COMPLEX.
Peep the first episode of Hoodie’s tour footage, beautifully edited by Pat Stansik. Not only do you get to see awesome concert footage and behind the scenes stuff, but you can also play “Spot The Bauce Sauce.” We hear the next episode is going to have Brenton Duvall in it (!!YAAAAAAY!!). If you haven’t already, check our Interview/Spotlight/What-Have-You with Hoodie. He called it “awesome.”
It was just last week when RAC released his first original song “Hollywood.” Now RAC is back with a remix of Temper Trap’s “Need Your Love.” Meant to promote the new single and upcoming album The Temper Trap (set for a June 5 release), RAC’s remix is an 80s pop play on the original and I actually prefer it more. Check out both RAC’s remix and the original version from Temper Trap below.
Right now a 17 yr old kid living in his parent’s 10,000 sq ft. mansion and driving a 2013 Porsche is singing along to this chorus, a testament to its infectiousness. Most of us can sympathize with the sentiments Cue puts forth in this song, though (sans irony). I always say: “Never forget where you came from… or else you can’t brag about how far you climbed to get where you are now.” You may have already been aware, but Brenton Duvall and CJ Luzi made sweet aural production Eiffel Tower DP love to this beat, as well.
OnCue proves that just because you are white, young, rapping over electronic-infused beats and exaggerating your “er” and “ore” enunciation, you aren’t frat rap. This kid knows how to write songs, a pension for penning catchy hooks a kin to Drake. If any musicians in this hype machine that we call the blogosphere actually stands a chance of getting on the radio and sustaining a career, it’s OnCue. For fuck’s sake, he’s already done a record with Just Blaze and Party Supplies. Download OnCue’s mixtape “Can’t Wait” if you haven’t already and get in on the ground floor.
Here’s the official video for “If You’re Ready to Learn” aka “Buss that Thang Open and Lemme Show You How Your Pussy Works.” I still refuse to believe that this started out as a joke. I think B-Mac really thought a fro-hawk and raunchy new single would revive his career like the Phoenix. Didn’t work that way. However, his name is definitely relevant again and he’s certainly doing a great job of taking advantage of this two and a half minutes of fame.
I still think he should have simply ghost-written the song and sold it to Jamie Foxx. It would have been a hit—guaranteed.
In the Director X video for Justin Bieber’s “Boyfriend,” our man JB floats through a bevy of buxom suitors, choreographed swag moves and luxury vehicles. This is the video we envisioned when we first heard the song (which was produced by the nefarious Mike Posner).
After seeing the video we can feel even more ok with Justin Timberlake getting married or acting whatever. Looking forward to more grown up Biebs on his upcoming Believe album.
Last night, VH1 re-aired Behind The Music: Notorious B.I.G. with some new footage, particularly surrounding his death in the wake of the Greg Kading theories linking Suge Knight to the murder. Crime mystery buff of not, this is still worth a watch for the biographical narrative which includes interviews from Puff, Mom Dukes, and the crew.
A$AP Rocky dropped this fresh video for the Hit-Boy produced single Goldie this morning. Featuring lots of gold,a cruise around Paris in a luxury convertible and nekkid ladies, it’s pretty much a natural evolution of A$AP Rocky’s previous videos, but needless to say, probably not safe for work.
Drop a comment below with your thoughts on either the video or on how A$AP’s team managed to get titties on youtube.
